Hope and trust you had a great weekend!
MRI today at 2:45 PM. Not happy, and a bit stressed...but, it is what it is...

Let me know what you find out about your thumb. Hopefully it will be better than anticipated.
I'm not all that optimistic. Now that the swelling has gone down, I can really feel the pain, and where it's focused. It has actually made me nauseous a couple of times. I'm sure, it coupled with the amount of stress I deal with on a daily basis is making for a very bad cocktail...ugh!
Anyway...
Will definitely keep you posted...
Monty
I was wondering your opinion of the following information about foods...maybe it could be a new blog? lol
http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/health/what-should-americans-eat-experts-announce-8-new-food-rules-1792205/
How nice of the technician to give their work a thumbs up, while giving your condition a thumbs down.
That article is really nothing new. Most of it is common sense guidelines, but missing what I feel are the strongest suggestions- cut out as much junk food as possible, grow as much of your own food as possible, and make as many of your own meals as possible.
I think too much effort is put into the what and why. Since it obviously isn't being put to use successfully, it seems more emphasis needs to go into the how.
What was your take on it?
Yah, right? Nice pun, but stay off the thumbs...LOL
I agree, it's the "how" that I find missing from all of the information out there. Or, better yet, even some kind of "plan", mapped out to help achieve the end result.
I was interested most in the "amounts" recommended in the article, as it applied to fish and other items.
Stands to reason that I could be back in action towards the end of July.
Anyway...
I took the purple, the others just didn't seem as good. No sling, and the cast goes up about 2/3rds of the arm. Mostly focused on immobilizing the thumb, and the area below it, go up the arm. It's not too bad. I go back on the 15th to have it removed, and to see where we are at.
I need to get back to working out, now that I have this on. My biggest fear? The smell that will be the result of sweating while in a fiberglass cast. Ugh! Oh well, it's only for 3 weeks...right? Justification? LOL
When you coming by? Soon?
It's too quiet over here...

At least it's stinking because you've been exercising, and not letting your thumb stop you from doing any workouts, right?
Does the thumb feel better?
Mostly because of my lessons, throwing BP, and hitting with one hand (lead hand from the left side). No real workouts...like in my gym or anything. Ugh!
I feel a sharp pain, and tightness from time to time, depending on what I do. Other than that, it's immobilized, so I have no idea, yet...I wish the 15th would HURRY up and get here!
Get on that treadmill of yours, and do some one arm swings too.
Happy 4th to you!
Is it OK to work the one arm and not the other? Meaning, will there be any ill affects from doing so...???
Monty
There's no problem just using your good arm while your hand is healing. It beats the alternative that most people would choose- not working out at all.
I am going to look at a stationary bike today. I like them more than the other cardio machine...but may not get anything...
