Giving Thanks 2010 Print E-mail
Tuesday, 23 November 2010 22:09
It's that time of year when after the dust has settled, the big sigh off relief has been given and everyone is seated for Thursday's feast we stop, or should, for a moment and give THANKS. I've already started.

Yesterday I was in an uproar over some clogged drains. I got a voice mail from a client whose family is dealing with some very stressful events. Our follow up phone conversation really put things into perspective. As always I'm thankful for my health- beating heart, clear lungs, sound mind, the whole works. I'm so glad for it.

I'm thankful my wife's brother, who is a general contractor, was generous with his time to come over last night after working all day and clear the drain for us. I'm especially thankful for the fact he gave us the best family discount possible. And I'm thankful I didn't fall climbing up on or down off the roof getting to the drain vent. I don't like heights and I especially don't like the thought off falling from them.

I'm grateful for the new clients I've had the pleasure of working with this year: Piper and Faith, Kim, Mike, Kathy, Hope, Glory, Laura, Stephen, Trey, and Gloria. Thanks go out to Dawn and Piper for the excellent referrals. I really appreciate it.

I'm thankful to Gilly, the under-aged pregnant stray we took in this past spring who delivered her litter of seven kittens in our home. Now we have two new permanent additions to our family (Mooch and Pepper) who bring us hours of fun and entertainment. I'm thankful that our other kitty BC was able to put up with Gilly and has taken on the role of big brother to his adopted siblings. I'm also thankful to friends Eva, and T and his family for providing good homes to some of the other kittens.

Thanks go out to my old friend Rich who took action and put together a Bravo Company Tank Battalion reunion, getting together a bunch of old jarheads who haven't seen each other in over twenty years or more. I'm thankful it was out here in north San Diego county and I was able to attend and meet up with some great friends.

I'm thankful for my son's violin instructor Jill and the San Diego Music Studio for how much they've helped Aaron learn the violin. I'm thankful he's taken such an interest in perfecting his skill, and not an interest in things that would be driving his parents mad.

I'm grateful to the North County Eye Center and its doctors. According to my wife it's a great place to work.

Thanks to 2010, it's been a good year for me and my family and hopefully continues to be until 2011. And if I didn't thank you yet, check back later. I'm not done yet.
