A Healthier Hamburger Print E-mail

For some folks there's nothing like a great burger. While it can be most satisfying to the taste buds they can sometimes be one of the lesser  healthful things you can eat. What makes a hamburger tasty is also what makes it unhealthy- saturated fat and simple sugars from the buns and condiments.

But there is something you can add to your hamburger meal that will lessen the ill effects of eating this All American favorite- avocado.
Hass avocado
If you go somewhere that makes a really decent hamburger like The Counter or Smashburger you're going to find this green, healthy fat fruit on the menu. Seems even Carl's Jr's Happy Star has learned what the Clown, the King and the Ping-Pong-ball-head haven't yet.
Even better buy and slice one up to put on, or eat along with your own homemade burger.

A study by researchers at the UCLA Center for Human Nutrition, David Geffen School of Medicine observed some positive benefits of having Hass avocados with a hamburger meal. It seems the antioxidants in the avocado produce anti-inflammatory and vascular health effects when eaten with hamburger. Good news for us omnivores that enjoy a good hamburger once in a while.
