MVE: Cheeseburger in Paradise Print E-mail

I've heard the song dozens of times before.  Yesterday, while driving to an appointment the song came on the radio and suddenly the lyrics caught my attention. Mainly "eatin' sunflower seeds, Drinkin' lots of carrot juice and soakin' up rays." For a moment I thought

someone was in the car singing to me about my current eating habits. Now I do enjoy a good burger like lots of people, but I am not having any "wonderful dreams" of "Some kind of sensuous treat." I can easily stick to the plan and not succumb to "a big warm bun and a huge hunk of meat."

I have less than one week to go. If I told you I wasn't counting the days I would be lying. It's not because I have cravings for anything in particular, just because it is a very boring style of eating. One thing I'll take away from this experiment is the importance of variety. Just like it is important to change up your workouts from time to time to prevent injury, stagnation and boredom, the same holds true for your daily diet.  When you set up your menu, be sure to include a wide variety of nutritious foods. The main thing is to get your nutrients and the correct amount of energy (calories). Avoid junk as much as possible. Nutrition does not mean deprivation. So be sure to include things you enjoy, within reason of course! The changes you make should be for life.
