MVE: Four Days Remaining Print E-mail
Saturday, 27 June 2009 21:15

This month it seems like I've been invited to more functions with food that is off my list than ever before. First I had to cancel my monthly breakfast meeting with a friend. I just couldn't see paying $8 or more for a fruit bowl, knowing it probably would not have been more than some

unripe cantaloupe, honeydew, and strawberries with a few grapes tossed in. Second was the middle school band concert. No food was served there, but normally we would have gone out to eat since it ended too late to go home and cook. Then the band had an award ceremony on the 8th. They served cake. No problem passing that up. That Saturday, my wife and I went to a friend's party with pizza, chips and salsa being served. I had pineapple juice, the healthiest and least potent thing anyone was drinking. funny pictures of cats with captions

My wife's softball team has a cookout once every season. They planned on having it the 21st, but I reminded my wife of that date being father's day and it would be cruel and unusual punishment to have it that day. They have postponed it.
Thursday I was given some apple cake to take home for my family. My intentions were to freeze a small piece to try sometime after the first of the month. Apparently it was too good, there was none left as of last night. I should have moved quicker.
We were invited to a birthday party today (27th), but our schedules kept us from being able to go. It was for the granddaughter of a good friend who always makes lots of good food. That would have been a big test of will.

The toughest was yesterday. My daughter had a friend over for the afternoon. Right after I got back from my workout my wife asked if I wanted to come to the frozen yogurt shop with them. At first I was going to say no, since I knew wouldn't be having anything from there, but I enjoy being with my family so I went along. It would have been easy to throw in the towel, but if there is one single person reading this then I have enough reason to be held accountable for my actions. I didn't even sample a taste!

Two more days of falling well below may caloric goal. My overall energy still feels fine, but my stamina during my workouts is declining. I still notice no changes in mood, and so far no one has told me they've noticed either.
